Medicare Advantage (Part C)

Compare the Best Medicare Advantage Plans

Medicare Advantage is similar to the normal major medical health insurance you’ve been used to up until now. Many of the same health insurance providers offer Medicare Advantage Plans and they come in the same form: HMO, PPO, POS, etc. – including doctor selections and in some cases, integrated care.

There are many benefits to getting a Medicare Advantage plan. Medicare Advantage or Advantage Plus plans may expand your healthcare coverage to include the following possibilities:

  • ✓ Wellness visits
  • ✓ Check-ups
  • ✓ Prescription drugs
  • ✓ Fitness
  • ✓ Hearing aids
  • ✓ Eye glasses
  • ✓ Dentures and crowns

No one wants to admit that they may eventually need hearing aids and dentures, but if you do need them one day, would you really want to pay 100% of the cost or go without?

Medicare Advantage is great for everyone. It helps cover the expenses of services that will help make your over-65 years as healthy and comfortable as possible. It provides preventative care and also makes it affordable to see the doctor even when you just have questions. Shop and compare different Medicare Advantage plans in your area.

Medigap vs. Medicare Advantage Plans

What’s the difference? Medicare Supplemental Insurance pays a portion of your co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles for healthcare covered by Part A and Part B. It is important to note that with Medigap, there is no additional coverage. You pay a monthly premium, the insurance covers up to 100% of your co-payments, etc. when they arise. Medicare Advantage Plans offer additional coverage and may only reduce your out-of-pocket expenses by offering smaller co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles.

Additionally, you can change your Medicare Advantage Plan annually during Open Enrollment, whereas you’re fairly locked in to a Medicare Supplemental Insurance Plan for a while.

What Does Medicare Cost with a Medicare Advantage Plan?

Monthly premiums will be a combination of Part B plus Medicare Advantage Plans. Since most Medicare Advantage Plans include prescription drug coverage, you don’t have to pay extra for that.

  • ✓ Part B premiums + M.A. Premiums (generally drug coverage incl)
